Fueling Young Minds – National Food Day by Grade 2 and 3

Our Grade 2 and Grade 3 students celebrated National Food Day with great enthusiasm and meaningful learning experiences. The celebration aimed to create awareness about healthy eating habits, balanced nutrition, and the importance of reducing food wastage.

Creative Food Art

One of the highlights of the day was the vibrant Food Art Activity. Students used fruits and vegetables to create beautiful designs and patterns. This activity encouraged creativity while reinforcing the importance of choosing nutritious foods in a fun and engaging way.

 Healthy and Unhealthy Food Display

A special display corner was arranged to help students differentiate between healthy and unhealthy foods. Fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and dairy products were showcased alongside examples of junk and sugary foods. Through discussions, children understood the benefits of healthy eating and the need to limit processed foods.

 Fun Learning Games

Interactive games were organized to make learning enjoyable. Students participated in food-sorting activities, quizzes, and team challenges that strengthened their understanding of food groups and balanced diets.

 Fancy Dress Competition

The Fancy Dress segment added excitement to the celebration. Students dressed up as fruits, vegetables, and other nutritious food items, confidently speaking a few lines about their importance. This activity boosted self-confidence and communication skills.

Skit on Reducing Food Wastage

A meaningful skit performed by the students highlighted the importance of reducing food wastage. Through simple yet powerful messages, children conveyed how wasting food affects society and why we must value every meal. The performance created awareness about being responsible and grateful for the food we receive.

The celebration was not only enjoyable but also educational. It helped students:
